Board & Staff

The St. Clare Foundation is governed by a board of directors who govern and oversee the organization's operations. The board is responsible for setting the organization's mission, vision and values as well as its strategy and goals, ensuring that the organization operates in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Board of Directors:

  • SM Clarette Stryzewski, CSSF
    SM Clarette Stryzewski, CSSF

    Board Chair

    SM Clarette Stryzewski has been a member of the Felician Sisters Congregation for over 50 years. She joined Felician Services, Inc., in Chicago, Illinois in January 1993, and served as its President and CEO until 2014, while also serving as the President and CEO of St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. Her ministry at St. Mary’s Hospital spanned from 1983-1995. Sister Clarette has been engaged in congregational ministries including elementary education, secondary education, clinical social work, and hospital administration. SM Clarette presently serves on numerous Felician-sponsored boards.

  • Mr. Terry Schweizer
    Mr. Terry Schweizer

    President

    As President of Felician Services, Inc. and the St. Clare Foundation, Terry brings over 30 years of corporate and ministry experience. Prior to joining Felician Services, Inc., Terry served as Executive Director of the REVEAL Project where he led a team of professionals in creating the world’s largest database on spiritual growth-consisting of over 2,000 churches and half a million congregants.

  • Mr. Nick Long
    Mr. Nick Long

    Secretary/Treasurer

    Nick Long joined Felician Services in March 2023. Nick comes to Felician Services with extensive experience in non-profit financial management with many years working with higher education and academic medical center institutions.

  • SM Geralyn Mroczkowski, CSSF
    SM Geralyn Mroczkowski, CSSF

    Board Member

    SM Geralyn is the CEO of Felician Services, Inc. Between 2009 to 2021, SM Geralyn served as a Councilor on the Province Leadership Team, Our Lady of Hope Province. Additionally, SM Geralyn has served in multiple roles in Catholic education ministries.

  • Sr. Jeremy Marie Midura, CSSF
    Sr. Jeremy Marie Midura, CSSF

    Board Member

    Sr. Jeremy Marie Midura joined Felician Services in the role of Executive Vice President of Mission Integration and in that role serves as a member of the Felician Services Executive Leadership Team. Sister Jeremy brings more than 20 years of experience in pastoral ministry where she facilitated spiritual ministry, social awareness, and community involvement activities and programs.

  • Ms. Paula Friedman
    Ms. Paula Friedman

    Board Member

    Paula Friedman joined Felician Services in March 2022 as a part-time consultant and executive liaison. Paula is a retired senior executive of SSM Health and brings more than 35 years of progressive management, operations and strategic experience in healthcare and Catholic ministries.

  • Mr. Damon Harbison
    Mr. Damon Harbison

    Board Member

    Mr. Damon Harbison is a Centralia native and serves as the President of SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital Mt. Vernon and St. Mary's Hospital Centralia. Damon is also the President of the SSM Health Rural Health Network. With his extensive knowledge of the rural health challenges in Southern Illinois, Damon brings an invaluable perspective to the St. Clare Foundation to help drive innovative, creative, and collaborative solutions to improving coordinated access to behavioral health care.

  • Ms. Patty Williams
    Ms. Patty Williams

    Board Member

    Ms. Patty Williams is a lifelong Centralian and has dedicated her life to serving the needs of the community. As a retired educator from Centralia City Schools, she has decades of experience working firsthand with the youth and adolescent population and brings a robust understanding of students' and families' needs. She has also dedicated over 50 years to volunteering with the American Red Cross. Patty has served on countless local boards, committees, and commissions in the Centralia community, and she has a true passion and calling for helping drive progress in the community in many different ways.

    Executive Director

    Ms. Clare Kessler

    Ms. Clare Kessler is the Executive Director for the St. Clare Foundation. She has a Masters of Public Health - Health Management & Policy, a Bachelor of Science in Community Health, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Clare is responsible for leading the Foundation by creating and deepening community relationships and partnerships to address unmet community needs.
